"prohortus" was set up in May 2008. As keen gardeners we had, over the years, used many makes of tool and experimented with growing lots of different types of plant. We have always had to work within a tight budget, but had come to the conclusion that cheap tools were a false economy and that it paid to buy the best you could afford.

With that in mind, we decided to set up our own online business selling just the items we really liked but at a better price than could be found elsewhere. As you can see the range of goods we offer is very small but we can genuinely say that we use or have used all of these items at home and in some cases have done for years.

"prohortus" is a very small business and we are involved in every aspect of it. Our overheads are minimal and we can determine what price we charge making sure that you the customer gets the best deal possible.
